Archana Soreng belongs to the Khadia Tribe from Odisha, India. She is one of the seven members of the United Nations Secretary General’s Youth Adivsory Group on Climate Change. She is experienced in advocacy and research and is working to document, preserve, and promote traditional knowledge and cultural practices of indigenous communities.

She is also the Contact Point of Indigenous Solidarity Working Group of YOUNGO (the official Children and Youth Constituency of UNFCCC). She works as Research Officer with Vasundhara Odisha, an action research and policy advocacy organization working on Rights of Indigenous People, Biodiversity Conservation, Sustainable Livelihood and  Climate Action.

She holds a Masters in Regulatory Governance from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
