Aristide Chacgom is a lawyer based in Cameroon. For more than 5 years he has been coordinating Green Development Advocates (GDA), a Cameroonian civil society organization. His interests and work focus on land and forestry law, natural resource governance and climate change. He accompanies indigenous peoples and local communities in the recognition and securing of their traditional land against the establishment of agro-industries, large projects and logging and leads several campaigns against the conversion of forests. He also works for the revitalization, safeguarding and conservation of traditional knowledge and governance systems of indigenous peoples and local communities.
