Land Rights Now

The Global Call to Action on Indigenous and Community Land Rights

Take action now!

This is a Global Call to Action aiming to engage and mobilize communities, organizations, governments, and individuals worldwide in promoting and securing Indigenous Peoples and local communities’ land rights.

Our GOAL is to secure all Indigenous and community land rights everywhere. Our TARGET is to double the global area of land legally recognized as owned or controlled by Indigenous Peoples and local communities by 2020.

Securing these rights is at the heart of building a just and equitable world. From health to education, participation to peace, growth to cultural diversity, Indigenous Peoples and local communities’ land rights are fundamental to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals to which our nations’ leaders have committed.

Life on Earth as we know it depends on the recognition of Indigenous Peoples and local communities as custodians of our planet.

If you consider these issues to be a priority, like we do, and want to join efforts at doubling the amount of land recognized as owned or controlled by Indigenous Peoples and local communities by 2020, join the Global Call to Action by signing up and help us ensure its success!
